Doing nothing while other people are doing something consists of a series of small sculptures and a 10-page cardboard book. The sculptures are so-called page holders, wooden objects that allow you to read a book with only one hand.
The book connects pictures of demonstrations of these page holders, with a story about the first time the artist made use of a laundromat. This anecdote is the starting point for a reflection about feelings of guilt and responsibility and what can happen if one prioritizes these feelings over others.

My grandparents couldn’t bear the idea they were doing nothing, while other people were doing something. Even if it meant doing things they were not physically able to do at their age.
